Getting started
- unpack the Walkman
- insert the rechargeable battery
- insert MD
- plug in the headphones
- plug in the microphone into the MIC port
Recording
- start the recording with the red-silver button
- talk/sing/make music
- press stop
- the recorder is now writing the file onto the MiniDisk
Save as mp3
Conditions
- installed Sonic Stage
- installed Audacity
- free USB port on your notebook or PC
- free memory
Install Sonic Stage
- insert the CD
- choose "Sonic stage and MD Simple Burner"
- select path
- the setup will start
- while Sonic Stage is being installed, MD Simple Burner will also be installed
- select path
- Sonic Stage starts
- you're now able to adjust some settings
Connect the Walkman
- connect the Hi-MD by means of the USB cable with your notebook or PC
Transmit
- start Sonic Stage
- click onto the most right button in the blue bar (we are sorry, but we only have the German version "Übertragen")
- choose the recording in the right column "Hi-MD:" (the column of the Walkman)
- Drag and Drop the file(s) into your library (German: "Eigene Bibliothek") or click onto the left arrow
- a window will pop up on the first transmission
- choose "save as WAV" (German: "als WAV-Datei speichern"). This is important to convert the file to mp3
- you can change this option in Extras - Options - Transmission - Transmission - Transmissionsettings - Advanced (German: Extras - Optionen - Übertragung - Übertragung - Übertragunseinstellungen - Erweitert
Convert to mp3
- install Audacity
- start Audacity
- File - Open
- choose the .WAV file
- as standard this file is stored in the "My Music" folder
- File - Export as mp3
